How To Make Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake

Easy chocolate cake recipe

While it might seem intimidating, using the appropriate recipe can make baking a cake from home stress-free and enjoyable. There are many uncomplicated, easy cake recipes available. Today, we are bringing you your favourite flavour – chocolate. This is the ‘Chocolate Cake’ that takes just 20 minutes of active time.

This cake is a go-to for all celebrations and joy. It is indulgent without being excessively sweet, not too rich but outrageously moist. You can make this cake if you have a whisk and two big bowls. The batter is so thin that a springform pan shouldn't be used since it might spill. The finished dish has a remarkable shelf life; it can be baked in advance and will freeze nicely while remaining fresh for days.

To make this 10-3-inch cake, you will need the following chocolate cake ingredients:

  • All-purpose flour 1 ¾ cups
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Cocoa powder ½ cup
  • Baking soda 1 ½ teaspoons
  • Sugar (granulated) 1 ½ cups
  • Whole Milk 1 Cup
  • 2 eggs at room temperature
  • Boiling water 1 Cup
  • For flavouring, you may use ½ a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • Toppings can include:
    • Warm ganache
    • Whipped cream
    • Chocolate buttercream
    • Marshmallow icing

8 step Preparation:

Step 1

Butter-grease a round pan about 10 by 3 inches, then line the bottom and the sides with parchment paper and butter-grease. You can alternatively simply flour the sides and grease and line the bottom of the pan. Preheat the oven to 350 deg. F.

Step 2

Then in a sizable mixing bowl, place a large sifter or sieve. Sift together after adding the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. At this point, you can also combine the sugar.

Step 3

Now, take the eggs, vanilla, oil, and milk, and whisk these together in another large bowl.

Step 4

Blend the dry and wet ingredients slowly and gradually. Ensure that there are no lumps as you mix them – the batter, in the end, must be smooth.

Step 5

Boil some water, pour it into the mixture, and stir it all together – ensure a flat combination.

Step 6

Take the pre-prepared pan from the first step and pour the batter into it. This should be in the centre of the oven for about 50 minutes. To check if it is cooked completely, insert a wooden skewer into the cake. This should come out clean. Press the cake gently and see if it bounces back – if all these criteria are met, it means that the cake is made. Let the cake stand for 10 minutes after removing it from the oven. Release the cake by gently inserting a butter knife into it.

Step 7

Remove the parchment paper from the sides and the bottom. Invert the cake and cool on a wire rack.

Step 8

You can add the toppings as mentioned above or simply dust the cake with sugar. Dive into this heavenly delight after refrigerating it for about 3 to 4 hours.
